Dungeon Rewards: Mythic+ & the Dungeon Master
Three custom dungeon activities, three reward tracks. Here's exactly what each one pays and how often you can run it.
Mythic+ Keystones
The Mythic Plus Master, found in every capital city, Shattrath and Dalaran, sells one keystone per character per day. Keys run from +1 to +20. Every character starts at +1 and unlocks the next level by beating the timer, and you can only select levels you have earned. Every party member needs that level unlocked too, so a group runs at the level everyone has earned and nobody can be carried. Below +10 a fast clear can skip ahead, up to 3 levels under 60% of the timer; from +10 upward it is strictly one level per clear. Miss the timer and you drop a level and get nothing, because rewards are paid only on a timed clear:
- ✦Scaling gold on every timed clear: 30g at +1, 50g at +2, rising to 400g at +20.
- ✦[Demon Hearts] on every timed clear, roughly half your keystone level: 1 at +1, 6 at +11, up to 10 at +20. Every boss in the level 60 and 70 raids can drop them too, roughly 1 kill in 5 (more often after Hardmode magic find), with the final boss of each raid dropping one to three. Spend them at the Demon Heart Vendor in every major city on mounts, pets and toys that were never obtainable in game, or pay Lady Vashj 3 per Awakened talent session after your first, which costs nothing, or 10 for a permanent bonus talent point, up to 10 per character.
- ✦One rewarded run per character per day, and the lock applies to everyone in the party. A server leaderboard tracks the fastest clears.
One thing to plan for: Mythic+ does not scale to your group size. Unlike the Dungeon Master, it never eases up for a smaller party, so it stays tuned for a full 5-player team. Build your own team to run it, whether real friends or your own alt bots and linked-account characters.
Dungeon Master: Normal runs
The Dungeon Master stands in every capital city, Shattrath and Dalaran. Pick any dungeon, pick a difficulty, and every kill drops bonus gear on top of normal loot:
- ✦Completion reward: two guaranteed rares, each with a 50% chance to upgrade to an epic. Reward gear always rolls a bonus stat.
- ✦Available once every 2 hours.
Dungeon Master: Roguelike runs
- ✦Chain random dungeons floor after floor; each floor cleared grants +10% all stats for the rest of the run plus two guaranteed rares (each 1 in 2 upgrades to epic).
- ✦Quit gracefully at the Dungeon Master to bank the end-of-run bundle: bonus gear and 3× [Tiny Titanium Lockbox].
- ✦The deeper you push before cashing out, the richer the bundle: the gear improves, and it adds [Attribute Recalibrators], [Dalaran Jewelcrafter’s Tokens], [Dalaran Cooking Awards] and [Emblems of Frost] that scale with depth, starting from the very first floor you clear.
- ✦A wipe forfeits the bundle, but floor rewards are yours to keep. Once per day.
🛡️Hardmode-safe: deaths inside Dungeon Master runs, normal and roguelike alike, do NOT count against the Hardmode Challenge. The Dungeon Master revives you and your one life stays intact. Deaths anywhere else still end the run.
Reset timers at a glance
- ✦Mythic+: one keystone purchase and one rewarded run per character per 24 hours.
- ✦Dungeon Master normal: every 2 hours.
- ✦Dungeon Master roguelike: once per day (starting the run consumes it, wipes included).

Customized Leveling: Your Pace, Your Challenge
Level however you like. Set your experience rate at the Leveling Manager, or take on Hardmode: a single-life run to level 80 with permanent rewards for finishing alive.
Set your experience rate
- ✦Speak to the Leveling Manager, standing with the other custom NPCs in every capital city, Shattrath and Dalaran.
- ✦Pick from five rates: x5 (the default), x10, x15, x20 or x25. The change is instant and saved per character.
- ✦Only your experience is affected. Reputation and profession gains stay at the realm rate.
The Hardmode Challenge
- ✦Hardmode starts on a fresh character: level 1 for most classes, or level 55 for Death Knights. Your experience is locked for the whole run: x5 for most classes, x1.75 for Death Knights.
- ✦Reach level 80 without dying even once.
- ✦If you die before level 80, the character becomes a permanent ghost that can never be resurrected. You would create a new character to try again.
- ✦Changed your mind? You can abandon the challenge at the Leveling Manager. The character returns to normal leveling, but can never attempt Hardmode again.
🛡️One safe zone: deaths inside Dungeon Master normal and roguelike runs do NOT count. The Dungeon Master revives you, and your Hardmode run continues. Everywhere else, death is still final.
Finishing Hardmode
- ✦Reach level 80 alive, then return to the Leveling Manager to claim your reward.
- ✦You permanently keep double reputation, +10% loot drop chance, a loyal companion of your choosing, and your pick of one of the eight Gladiator flying mounts, from the Nether Drakes to the Frost Wyrms, on that character.

Bots: Build Your Own Party
The realm's ambient bots keep battlegrounds and world PvP alive around the clock, but your party bots are your own characters. Here's how to field a full group solo.
The ground rules
- ✦Party bots are your own alts: characters on your account, or on a second account you've linked. The random world bots politely decline invites; that's intentional.
- ✦Up to 4 bots in your group, so you plus four fills a 5-man dungeon party.
- ✦With 10 character slots per account, one account gives you a stable of up to 9 alt bots, and a linked second account adds another pool.
Summoning your alts
Type these in chat. Bots log in and out as real characters on your account:
.playerbots bot add CharacterName | Log one of your alts in as a bot and make it available to invite. |
.playerbots bot remove CharacterName | Log the bot back out. |
Then invite them to your party like any player. They’ll accept, follow, fight and roll on loot.
Linking a second account
Own a second account? Link it once and its characters become invitable bots too:
.playerbots account setKey YourSecret | Run this logged in on the SECOND account. It sets a secret key. |
.playerbots account link AccountName YourSecret | Run this on your MAIN account with the second account's name and key. |
.playerbots account linkedAccounts | List your linked accounts. |
.playerbots account unlink AccountName | Remove a link. |
The key works like a password, so only share it with yourself. Anyone holding it can control that account’s characters as bots.
Commanding your bots
Orders go in party chat (all bots) or as a whisper (one bot). The essentials:
follow | Stick to you (the default). |
stay | Hold position. |
flee | Disengage and run to you. |
attack my target | Focus whatever you're targeting. |
summon | Teleport the bot to you if it's stuck or far away. |
equip upgrade | Have the bot equip every gear upgrade sitting in its bags. Run this after a dungeon, or once you've handed it new gear, to get it fully kitted out. |
equip <item> | Equip one specific item that you link after the command, even a piece the bot wouldn't rate as an upgrade on its own. |
talents | Show its current talent spec. |
talents spec list | List the premade specs for the bot's class, by name (arms pve, prot pve, holy pve, and so on). |
talents spec <name> | Change the bot's role by re-speccing it, so talents spec holy pve makes it heal, talents spec prot pve makes it tank, talents spec shadow pve makes it dps. It re-picks glyphs and combat behaviour to match. ⚠ This is a full re-spec: it erases the character's existing talents, including any Awakened talents bought from Lady Vashj. To swap between two specs you built by hand, use talents switch instead. |
talents switch <1/2> | Swap between the character's two Dual Talent Specialization specs, keeping every point exactly as it was allocated. Requires that character to have bought Dual Talent Specialization from a class trainer, and like the regular spec swap it will not work in combat or while dead. |
reset botAI | Snap a confused bot back to its senses. |
help | List everything a bot understands. |
Bots keep looted gear in their bags instead of putting it on themselves, so you decide when they upgrade. After a run, tell the bot equip upgrade and it swaps in every improvement it's carrying. To fit one specific piece, use equip and link the item.
A bot's role follows its talent spec, and a bot already runs a sensible spec for its class by default. To turn a healer into a tank, or a caster into a damage dealer, re-spec it with talents spec: run talents spec list to see the names for that class, then talents spec <name>. Only classes that can fill a role have a spec for it, so you cannot make a Rogue heal.
If the bot is an alt you also play by hand, especially one with Awakened talents, do not change its role with talents spec. A re-spec wipes Awakened points, and points beyond your first session cost Demon Hearts to buy back. Instead, buy Dual Talent Specialization from a class trainer on that character, build its two specs, and swap with talents switch 1 and talents switch 2. Switching preserves both specs exactly as you built them, Awakened talents included.

Reforging & Bonus Stats: Make Your Own Best-in-Slot
Three systems let you shape gear instead of praying to the loot gods: every uncommon-and-better item rolls a bonus stat when you get it, the Master Reforger lets you shrink a stat you don't want to grow one the item already has, and she can even swap a whole armor-set bonus for one from another set.
Bonus stats on gear
Every uncommon-and-better item rolls one extra stat on top of its normal ones, sized to the item’s level:
- ✦The roll is now guaranteed on everything: looted gear, vendor purchases, quest rewards, Dungeon Master reward gear and crafted items all carry a bonus.
- ✦Crafted bonuses are twice as strong as looted ones. Your professions make genuinely superior gear.
- ✦Possible bonuses cover the full spread: Strength, Agility, Stamina, Intellect, Spirit, Attack Power, Spell Power, Armor, bonus Health, and Crit, Haste, Hit, Expertise, Defense, Dodge, Block or Armor Penetration rating.
Rerolling a bonus
- ✦Don’t like the roll? Use an [Attribute Recalibrator] on the item to reroll its bonus stat. The token is consumed.
- ✦Works on your own already-boosted items; crafted gear keeps its double-strength bonus when rerolled.
- ✦Get Recalibrators from roguelike Dungeon Master runs, starting from the very first floor you clear and growing the deeper you bank the run.
- ✦Prefer to pay gold? The Master Reforger can also reroll an item's bonus stat for 800 gold: talk to her and pick the item from her reroll window.
Reforging
- ✦Visit the Master Reforger. Like all our custom NPCs, she stands in every capital city, Shattrath and Dalaran, next to the Mythic Plus Master.
- ✦Reforging drops one stat on the item by 40% and raises another stat on the same item by 40% of its own value (always at least 1 point each way): shrink dead Spirit to grow your Hit, or trade Armor Penetration for more Agility.
- ✦Reforgeable stats: Strength, Agility, Intellect, Stamina, Spirit, Attack Power, Spell Power, Hit, Crit, Haste, Expertise, Defense, Dodge, Parry, Block, Resilience, Armor Penetration, Mana Regen and more.
- ✦Each reforge costs 1,500 gold, so reforge and re-reforge until the stats are exactly what you want.
Set bonus reforging
The newest service at the Master Reforger: swap an armor-set bonus you don't want for a bonus from a different set your class can wear. Your 2-piece or 4-piece stays active exactly as before, but the power it grants comes from the set you chose.
- ✦Pick any bonus slot on a set you are wearing (each threshold counts separately, so a 2-piece and a 4-piece can be swapped independently), then browse the tier, dungeon and PvP sets open to your class.
- ✦Power is gated by set item level: the bonus you take must come from a set whose item level ceiling is no higher than the set you are wearing. Equal is allowed, so the item level 277 sets are peers of each other.
- ✦Each change costs 2,000 gold. A PvP bonus that grants two effects at one threshold moves as a bundle and counts as one change at one price. Restoring a slot to its original bonus also costs 2,000 gold.
- ✦No doubling up: the same bonus can never be active twice, whether from two swaps or a swap plus the set you already wear.
- ✦Piece counting is untouched: you still need the real pieces equipped to light the threshold, and a swap on a set you are not currently completing simply waits until you are.
- ✦The item tooltip keeps its original set text (a client limitation, like reforged stats), but the swap fully applies. After every change the Reforger whispers you clickable spell links of your current bonuses, and she can read out your full mapping any time.
The fine print
- ✦A quirk of the 3.3.5 client: only you see reforged stats in the tooltip, but they fully apply in combat regardless.
- ✦Trading, mailing, auctioning or guild-banking an item clears its reforge.
- ✦Heirlooms and items with random suffixes ("…of the Bear") can't be reforged.
